George Armstrong

In a newspaper article [possibly the Guelph Mercury] there was an article entitled 1952 is Centenary Year For Eramosa Township. It contains a picture of "Eramosa Pioneers, Mr. and Mrs. H. Scott" and a picture of George Armstrong, "one of the earliest pioneers of Eramosa Township and grandfather of Miss Janet M. Armstrong, now residing in Guelph."

The article also says "One of the most comprehensive collections of Eramosa Township [...] is that in the possession of Miss Janet M. Armstrong who in recent years has been living at the Elliott Home in Guelph. This is Eramosa's centennial year and officials of the township have obtained from Miss Armstrong, as loans, many items which will be helpful in compiling a new township history."

"Miss Armstrong is a granddaughter of George Armstrong who settled in Eramosa in 1825. The Armstrong name became particularly prominent in connection with the establishment of the historic Armstrong Mill of Guelph Township."

The article continues through several more paragraphs.

The picture of George Armstrong, of course, was of poor quality in newspaper of 1952 and I only have a photocopy of that article. Said George Armstrong is my great-great-grandfather. I would like to contact anyone having an actual photograph (or other picture) of said George Armstrong with the hopes of obtaining a digital (scanned) copy of it.
