KOPS FROM AROUND THE WEB

ACTIVITIES

Our primary activity is attending all Tunis Shrine sanctioned parades although in the past we have attended other Shrine ceremonials such as Media and Karnak, Police Week displays, and charity events. The Kops attend the circus every season and assist where we can. Usually the uniformed Koppers act as parking attendants before and after the shows.

This summer, we attended a number of parades. For some parades, we do not take the Paddy Wagon but when we do we always make sure we have a convict even if it means the Top Kop playing the role. With our increase in numbers recently we will have to plan some skits for the parades, have some stickers and parking tickets made. An addition to the uniform over the last few years has been a white summer shirt as the tunics are wool and very hot. In the past we have attended the Northeast events and plans are being made to go to future Northeast events. ermont this year with the Paddy Wagon.

Besides our active and veterans we have underkover kops that ensure all things move along smoothly.

CAMEL HERDERS DEGREE

In 2003, the Veteran members of the Tunis Keystone Kops had seven candidates for the Ancient Order of Camel Herders degree. Camel Herders Roy Gilchrist, Les White, Larry Craig and Don Lewis put the current active force through the degree without any problems. The new Camel Herders are Koppers Jack Baxter, Ellis Lindsay, John Searle, Ewart Thornhill, Ted Ogilvie, the "phantom Kop" Jim Birtch, and Ken Watters.
