Show Prospects by Lance

Growing Up at Other Kennels

Lance is producing beautiful puppies at other kennels for other breeders also. It is a great pleasure to see that Lance is prepotent for his balance of sound structure and beautiful type. I wish to thank the following breeders for seeing the quality in Lance and using it in their own breeding programmes. Watch for these show prospects in the ring.

At Azarel Kennels:

The following pup was bred by Sharon MacLean of Sharls Shelties. She deserves to be very proud of this bundle of "Joy". "Joy" is a repeat breeding of "Vera" pictured further below. The puppy is another fine example of what Lance produces for others.

Sharls Rowanglen O Be Joyful "Joy"

Sire: Am/Can Ch Rowanglen Sir Lancelot
Dam: Sharls Camelots Lady Gwinevere

December, 2002 - "Joy" made a long flight to British Columbia and has totally won the heart of her new owner, Zara Heartwood. The following are some of her comments: "Joy came to us by Air Canada from Sharon MacLean (Sharl's Shelties) and Hanna Hadden (Rowanglen Shetland Sheepdogs) in Ontario. Joy's dad is Am/Can Ch. Rowanglen Sir Lancelot. I am so grateful that Sharon and Hanna gave me the opportunity to love and cherish this sweet little show prospect! ... The Joy to the World party was last night. Everybody thought she was wonderful (of course!). Her outgoing personality impressed everyone and they could not say enough about her structure and movement, especially how she carries herself, her flat back, balanced outline and perfectly formed front legs. Her face is gorgeous, her tail set is just about perfect, and her eye shape is modifying slightly to more almond. " ~Zara Heartwood

September 12th, 2003 - She's finished, with 5 Best Puppy in Groups!!

Many thanks to the Judges who recognized this girl's sweet temperament, fantastic structure and movement: Merlin Vandekinder, Geraldine Taylor, Barbara Beland, Denise Cornellsen, Edna St. Hilaire and Donna Cole. High praise indeed to Les Wain of Tedy Bear Publishers for the professional photographs of Joy in her CSSA and Sheltie Tails ads. There are no words adequate to express my gratitude to handlers Debbie Moraes and Miranda Grigg for their talents in bringing out the best in this lovely puppy. Finally, a big hug to Hanna Hadden for the legacy of Rowanglen and profuse thanks to breeders Sharon and Earl MacLean of Sharls Shelties for giving me the opportunity to love and cherish wonderful girl!! ~Zara Heartwood

Now this didn't take long, did it?

FLASH! September 21, 2003 - Joy obtained a herding instinct certificate by passing a herding instinct test and is now Ch Sharls Rowanglen O Be Joyful HIC at a mere 11 months of age.

At Sharls Kennels:

"Vera" was bred by Sharon MacLean and is a full sister to "Joy" pictured above at Azarel Kennels. Vera has matured into a beautiful bitch and will be shown when back in coat.

Sharl's Lady Shalanvera "Vera"

Sire: Am/Can Ch Rowanglen Sir Lancelot
Dam: Sharls Camelots Lady Gwinevere

We are looking forward to when this lovely bitch begins her show career. The lovely photos were taken by Earl MacLean in March, 2003. Vera is pictured at 21 months old.

At Sunbriar Kennels:

Sunbriar is a well established kennel that goes back to the '70s. I first met breeder, Gaye Shepley, when her beautiful tri-colour dog, Ch. Sunbriar's Black Sabbath, was tough competition. The following pup, "Lexi", traces back to him.

Sunbriar Lexus "Lexi"

Sire: Am/Can Ch Rowanglen Sir Lancelot
Dam: Sunbriar Dream Tapestry

This is the newest Lance daughter growing up at Sunbriar. "Lexi" is bred and owned by Gaye Shepley. I am looking forward to watching this one fulfill her promise. She earned a Best Puppy in Group at the Brantford show in December, 2002. Watch for her return to the ring in 2003.

At Delamantha Kennels:

Delamantha is the root of my breeding programme. After a long absence from breeding, my breeder-mentor, Carol Watt, has returned to breeding.

Sire: Am/Can Ch Rowanglen Sir Lancelot
Dam: Rowanglen Delamantha's Dharma

Carol has 5 wonderful girls and 2 boys from this successful breeding growing up and preparing for the show ring.
