This breeding was planned to combine the look of BIS Am/Can Ch Laureate Laredo ROMC on the sire's side with the look of Am Ch Jade Mist Beyond Tradition ROM on the dam's side. In addition the plan was to double on the exceptional structural qualities of Can Ch Rowanglen's Cassandra who is on both sides of the pedigree. The breeding wouldn't be complete without a dose of Am/Can Ch Rowanglen Sir Lancelot in the gene pool.

This puppy stepped into the world feet first. In other words, it was a breach birth. She loves to spend her time at the milk bar, and is consequently plump and healthy. She is a beauty and is being observed as a show prospect. |

This puppy has found a "litter mate". When her mother is not around she loves to snuggle with a stuffed toy. She is continuing to fill out. Her eyes are not open yet, but should be open by the weekend. |

Ahhh! What beautiful eyes she has! They opened at 2 weeks. She is now learning to walk and explore her puppy pen. Full muzzle, clean finish of underjaw, lean backskull, are all evident at this age. Those solid front legs are also a promise of a structurally correct front. Like her mother, she loves to snuggle on a heap of cushions and stuffed toys. |
April 6, 2003 - 4 weeks old A head to die for!! This puppy has a very lean backskull, full smooth filled-in muzzle, and exquisite eyes. She continues to be a real snuggle bug. Although introduced to mushy solid foods, she still prefers to nurse from her mom. By next week she should be at the exploration stage. Then the real fun begins. |

Carmen's ears are set close together naturally on top of her head. The tips are just about perfect. There has been no bracing, taping, or other intervention to make them so. Let's hope they continue this way. This puppy loves life and it is very difficult to get still pictures of her. She loves to be near me and follows me all around and is usually underfoot when I am trying to take a picture. :) |

Carmen's lovely body balance is observable in this natural stance. Both front and rear legs are parallel with no weakness evident in the hocks or pasterns. She has a lovely deep chest for her age and the elbows tuck in tight. Notice how the coat colour is lightening from week to week. The colour behind her ears is the first hint of her adult colour. Did I say she was very curious? Is anybody home? |

Dreams of show promises confirmed: Today "Carmen" began her show career. Her first time out, at a CKC Sanction Match, she went Best of Breed, Best Puppy in Group, and Group 1st. Then she decided she had done enough work and just wanted to play! |
